BLUE RIBBONS (2022) diploid Bloom: 6-1/2”, Scape: 26”Branches : 4, Buds :20, EM: reblooms : Dormant, Fragrant , [(Good Clean Thoughts x Chaotic Design) X Feng Zhu]. This beauty stopped me in my tracks the first time I laid eyes on her! The blooms are over 7” on first bloom, but settle down to 6-1/2” or so on later and repeat blooms. The very clear near white petals and sepals are centered with a clear, bright blue-lavender eyezone with near-white ‘ghost’ inclusions create bands of white within the petal eyezone.White midribs extend through eyezone into the bright green throat on both of the very ruffled petals and sepals. This daylily blooms at least 3 times for me with little pampering, and sets pods like crazy. Proving to be a fantastic parent for clear colored, patterned seedlings of large flower size. *EMBRACE THE PROMISE (2022) Tet [(LINDA SIERRA x MAGICAL MYSTERY SHOW) X (BLUE HIPPO x BLUE DESIRE)]. Sev, Blooms 6”, Scapes 30”, Branches 3. Buds avg. 15, Early midseason, reblooms
Upon looking through some older photos, I realized that this daylily looked exactly the same in every photo, no matter the year, first or last bloom, or the type of camera used. It has been used here quite heavily to clean up petal colors in both blue lines and patterns. Grandparent of HARMONY IN BLUE, and continues to throw very lovely kids.
EMBRACE THE PROMSISE has pale white blend petals which are centered with an intense blue-lavender eyezone and surrounded by a substantial matching picotee edge. The eyezone carries dark blue-lavender veining running into the intense green throat. The complicated genetics in this plant’s DNA make it an important parent. Years of careful selection and thought combined to produce such a daylily, allowing any hybridizer to embrace the promise of not only great plant habits and clear colors, but of finally experiencing a blue daylily.
EMBRACE THE PROMISE makes a lovely garden plant, and is a grand addition to any hybridizer’s inventory of ‘blue’ eyezone genetics. $45.00 DF

TIGER PLAY diploid, 2022, seedling# Em-St x TL X KI, Dormant, Bloom: 7-1/2”,Scape :48” Branches :4, Buds : 20, Bloom Season : M, Reblooms , fragrant
Tiger Play makes a stunning display in the garden! Its brilliant gold blend petals with lemon-white ruffled edges have a near black picotee on the petals in the eyezone area. The wide, near-black eyezone has even darker veining running into the green throat. Midribs have white brushing on them that cut into the eyezone. Ruffled sepals have white areas reaching out from the throat into the eyezone color. This child of (EMERALD STARBURST x TERRY LYNNINGER) X KALEIDOSCOPIC INTRIGUE passes on its large flower, very well-branched scape and towering height to its progeny. Very fertile both ways, it reblooms easily even when loaded with pods. HOLDING FOR INCREASE, check in fall 2024
Introductions for the year 2022, some are in very limited supply! Something for everyone, I am releasing some of the best 'blue' eyed hybridizing plants I have bred here at Nature's Edge Daylilies.
All plants have been grown under 'field' conditions with limited water or fertilizer since their initial bloom year. All plants are fertile, and have been used in hybridizing and produced selected progeny for future introduction.
Divisions will be as large as I can safely remove from the plant, sold as singles, but most will actually be doubles.
I hope you find something you will love in these pages!
Your feedback on my introductions is very helpful in planning for the future introductions from Nature's Edge!

PERSISTENT ILLUSION (2022) TET, sdlg NVVx RR; Bloom 6-3/4”; Scape 32”; Branches 4, sometimes 5; Buds avg. 16; EM; Sev; Reblooms; Fragrant (NATURE’S VICE VERSA X RIPPLES AND REFLECTIONS)
This has been one of my favorite seedlings since its initial crop year, growing very well here in zone 5, and producing tons of seed for me.
The blooms are pale peach, turning almost white after the sun hits them, and are centered by a light purple eyezone which is also carried onto the sepals. The pattern in the eyezone is of concentric rings of color with inclusions of white, which make additional rings. This pattern is very consistent; I have seen maybe 3 or 4 days when the pattern was not as apparent, which happened during very cold weather. Blooms open well, showing off the pattern to full advantage on the nicely branched scapes. The flowers are centered with an intense green throat with purple veining extending out onto the petals.
This is an important breeding plant, throwing both eyezone patterns and appliqués into its seedlings. Extremely fertile both ways, and reblooms quite well. I continue to use this plant as a hybridizing tool, and probably will for some time. HELD FOR INCREASE
